예전에 수줍은 인디언 처녀가 있었답니다.
그리고 대단한 인디언 전사가 있었구요.
그녀는 전사의 용맹함에 반했답니다
그에게 사랑의 노래를 불러줄 만큼이나 ..

그러던 어느날 그가 그의 인디언 전사들과 함께
그녀가 살던 초원을 떠나 전장터로 달려갔읍니다.

그들이 떠난후 그녀의 전사를 위해 매일밤 불을 지피며
밤낮으로 공을 드렸읍니다.

그리고 몇일이 지난 어느날
달빛이 내리 비추고 예쁜 붉은 지빠뀌가 날라 다니던 밤
바람이 몹씨 불고 새들이 우짓기 시작했읍니다.

그때 모든전사들이 돌아 왔읍니다.
그러나 그녀의 전사는 없었읍니다
그녀의 가슴은 레드윙의 신음으로 가득차 버렸읍니다.
그의 전장 소식을 전해 받고 말입니다.

그는 멀리 멀리 떠났다고 ...
그 전장에서 누구보다 용맹하게 싸웠던 우리의 용감한 전사였다고 ...
