Breakdown is the third live release of bluegrass music by Old and in the Way.
Like the first and second ones (Old and in the Way and That High Lonesome Sound),
it was recorded at the Boarding House in San Francisco in October 1973

Old and in the Way is the self-titled first album by the bluegrass band

Jerome John "Jerry" Garcia (August 1, 1942 -- August 9, 1995)
was an American musician best known for his lead guitar work,
singing and songwriting with the band the Grateful Dead.
Though he vehemently disavowed the role,
Garcia was viewed by many as the leader or "spokesman" of the group




 
The corner of Haight and Ashbury, center of the San Francisco neighborhood in
which the Grateful Dead shared a house at 710 Ashbury from fall 1966 to spring 1968.
